Debut author Kate Doyle was a 2020 resident at our annual Anne LaBastille Memorial Writing Residency on Twitchell Lake. Hear her read from her collection, I Meant it Once (Algonquin Books, 2023) and converse with fellow Anne LaBastille resident and ACW's visiting writer, Erin Dorney. The pair will discuss Kate's new book as well as their experiences at Lake Twitchell. Doyle and Dorney met at Twitchell Lake and have gone on to attend other retreats together, proving that a residency can create long-lasting community among writers. Audience questions will be welcome, so we invite your curiosity about residencies, the publishing process, and more.
Kate Doyle is the author of I Meant It Once, published by Algonquin Books in the US and Corsair in the UK. A former bookseller and a 2021 A Public Space Fellow, she has lived in New York City, Amsterdam, and Ithaca, NY. Her stories have appeared or are forthcoming in No Tokens, Joyland, Split Lip, Electric Literature, and elsewhere.
