Learn the fundamentals of planning, structuring, and writing an effective essay with this online, free, 90 minute workshop taught by writer and NCCC professor, Shir Filler on May 23 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Participants will come away with an understanding of what makes a work of nonfiction powerful as well as a toolkit of ideas to improve narrative structure, engage readers, and hone their voice.

The Adirondack Center for Writing will host the class and encourage writers to submit their personal essays for the “My Dreams for my Community” contest, with submissions open until June 15, and cash prizes up to $1400.
